Presence in the plains
Where the wild meets the heart

July 25 - August 2, 2026

Presence in the Plains is an eight-night yoga and safari retreat held at Munga Plains, a soulful sanctuary in the heart of Botswana’s wild landscape.

Here, we live as part of nature — surrounded by vast skies, ancient trees, and the gentle rhythm of wildlife all around us.

This Yoga and Safari retreat invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and move in harmony with the land.

Each day blends  yoga, meditation, and mindful safari adventures in Chobe National Park, allowing presence and devotion to unfold naturally.

Here, the boundaries between practice and life gently dissolve — and what remains is simplicity, awareness, and awe.

Our home for the week is Munga Plains, an eco-luxury retreat set in the heart of Botswana’s untouched wilderness.

Here, nature takes center stage — elephants wander nearby, birds call at dawn, and the horizon stretches endlessly in every direction. Life at Munga moves in rhythm with the land: mornings begin with sunlight filtering through the canvas, days flow between yoga, rest, and exploration, and nights are spent under starlit skies.

Each glamping tent is thoughtfully designed with comfort and simplicity in mind, blending natural textures with sweeping views of the plains.Constructed from wood, thatching grass and canvas, our glamping tents offer ensuite bathrooms and comfortable beds—while leaving you immersed in the sounds and rhythms of the wild.

The open-air yoga shala invites practice that feels both grounded and expansive — surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

At Munga, we live as part of nature, not separate from it. It is a space to slow down, observe, and remember how it feels to be truly alive — fully present, fully connected.

The heart of the camp is a communal lounge and dining deck overlooking open savannah, where meals, conversation and stillness blend effortlessly.

Each day here is designed to blur the line between living and wilderness, so you can simply be here now.

Travel Essentials

Preparing for your journey into the wild

Before joining us at Munga Plains, we recommend checking your routine travel health requirements for Botswana. While no mandatory vaccines are required for most travelers arriving from Europe or North America, it’s advisable to be up to date on Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Travelers arriving from or transiting through countries with yellow fever risk must show proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.

Botswana is  safe and well-prepared for visitors, but malaria prevention is recommended.

During our July retreat, the risk is low, yet it’s still wise to discuss antimalarial options with your doctor and pack a good mosquito repellent and long, light clothing for evenings.

When planning your trip, most guests fly from San Francisco (SFO) or other international hubs to Johannesburg (JNB), then take a short flight to Kasane, Botswana (BBK), where our transfer team will meet you. Travel insurance, sun protection, refillable water bottles, and light layers for both warm days and cool nights are also highly recommended.

No Visa is needed if you are a US /EU Citizen  - please make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months longer than your return date.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or if you need support while planning your journey. I’m happy to help with anything you might need.
